Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Appoints KV Kumar NRI Strategist
to the California State Bar Board of Governors Examining Committee
KV Kumar, 65, of Anaheim, has been appointed to the California State Bar Board of Governors Examining Committee. Since 2009, he has been chief operating officer of Dialysis Centers Network.
Since 2004, Kumar has been the chairman of Business and Strategic Consultants International and, since 1987, he has been a consultant to the management of Coca-Cola Company and other international conglomerates. From 2003 to 2007, he was national chairman and chief executive officer for the U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. and, from 1990 to 1993, he was president and chief executive officer for the American Systems International. Kumar is a member of the U.S. Department of State Small Business Round Table, U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce and Heroes and Heritage Group. In 2005, Kumar was appointed by President George W. Bush as the first Indian-American to the U.S. Small Business Administration National Advisory Council. He was an official member of the U.S. Trade Delegation to Sri Lanka and India in 2006 and 2007. This position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no salary. Kumar is a Republican. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed KV Kumar, of Anaheim, to the California State Bar Board of Governors Examining Committee. This appointment is effective January 2, 2011. Kumar is a Republican.
At present Kumar is the chief operating officer of Dialysis Centers Network; chairman of Business and Strategic Consultants International and also is consultant to the management of Coca-Cola Company and other international conglomerates. From 2003 to 2007, he was national chairman and chief executive officer for the U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. and, from 1990 to 1993, he was president and chief executive officer for the American Systems International. Kumar is a member of the U.S. Department of State Small Business Round Table, U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce and Heroes and Heritage Group. Kumar has decades of executive, organizational, administrative and management experience. He has expertise in strategic planning, policy analysis, liaison, crisis management, excellent negotiation skills, outstanding networking abilities, building alliances with public and private sector entities and excellent presentation & communication skills. Kumar has first hand working experience in international organizations worldwide. He also is a strong advocate for small businesses.

As a Chief Operating Officer of Dialysis Centers Network, LLC; he is responsible for managing approximately 250 employees and eight dialysis centers in Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside Counties, California.
He has been management consultant, since 1987 to various organizations like The Coca Cola Company; Church’s Chicken; EER Systems, Inc.; Philipppi Investments, LLC.; U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce; Dialysis Centers Network, LLC; Tru-Stop Inc.; BRUARFOSS, Ltd., of Iceland; First Liberty Bank Corp; BankWorld Inc.; Cauvery Medical International-Cauvery Medical Center; and numerous not-for profit and non-profit organizations. During these tenures he had management Consulting assignments from Strategic Planning to Marketing, Liaison, Advice to CEO’s, Financing, Negotiations, Mediation, and related services.
As National Chairman & CEO of U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce, Washington, DC; he has provided vision and leadership to establish and manage the organization from conception of the organization in 2003 till September 2007. He has developed personal relationships and goodwill resulted in the signing of a memoranda of understanding for cooperation with major trade, civic and ethnic organizations, as well as with the U.S. government, including the establishment of close alliances with federal agencies such as the U.S. Small Business Administration; the U.S. Department of Energy; the U.S. Department of Commerce; the U.S. Department of Agriculture; the U.S. Department of Transportation; the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and the White House. Responsible for establishing seven chapters in the U.S. and two offices in India.
He has successfully mediated and coordinated the signing of an agreement between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Government of India. The MOU was signed in New Delhi, India in January 2007. He has advised U.S. Administration under many Presidents, the State and Local Governments as well as the Members of the U.S. Senate and Congress on matters of importance to Trade and Commerce. A staunch supporter of free trade, he was responsible for connecting client organizations with a wide network of people, including top government and corporate leaders globally, as well as corporations and the small business community and successfully led three national conventions of USIACC. These annual conventions were participated in by highly successful Indian American businessmen and businesswomen; top business, civic and community leaders; highest levels of government officials; representatives of corporate America; scientists and innovators -- as well as professionals, homemakers; and provided special support to young Americans aspiring to become entrepreneurs. As a very strong advocate for small business owners, Kumar actively encouraged and supported entrepreneurs in their ability to network and grow. Member of various small businesses, as well as a champion of their causes beyond own affiliations, which are as follows:
Kumar is the first Indian American to be appointed by the President of the United States to the National Advisory Council. NAC consists of senior business leaders from around the country, who provide expert advice, sound ideas and diverse opinions on current small business issues and on the effectiveness of SBA programs. As such, NAC is a continuing source of private sector advice to U.S. Presidents, Congress, SBA and other federal agencies.

Mr. KV Kumar was recently honored by the City of College Park, Georgia with a Proclamation for building alliances in the United States and abroad.
Mr. KV Kumar is Founder and President of Business & Strategic Consultants International, Inc. in Scottsdale, Arizona. KV, as he likes to be called has successfully provided consulting services to corporations and governments throughout the world specializing in strategy development, liaison, crisis management, policy analysis, marketing and negotiation. Clients have included major financial institutions throughout the world including the World Bank and to the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines.
His established business relationships included business and governments both in the U.S. and India as well as the Philippines, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Sierra Leone, Chad and Thailand.
Mr. Kumar is also President and CEO of the U.S. India Trade Foundation (USINTF). USINTF is a non-government and non-profit organization that facilitates a pro-active role in developing and growing trade between the U.S. and India. A major objective of USINTF is to expand business trade opportunities between the U.S. and India by working closely with both governments.
Mr. Kumar has served as the Founding National Chairman and CEO of the U.S. Indian American Chamber of Commerce in Washington, DC and from the conception and founding of the organization in 2003 through September 2007, Mr. Kumar led a variety of activities beneficial to the constituent business community. He fostered establishment of seven chapters in different parts of the United States and opened two offices in India.
Mr. Kumar successfully mediated the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the U.S. Small Business Administration and the Government of India in January 2007.

USIACC Lauds the Historic Civilian Nuclear Agreement between USA and India
US Indian-American Chamber of Commerce supports the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement between US and India, and compliments President George W. Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on this historic step toward continued increase in prosperity both in India and the United States.
“Not only this watershed agreement is good for America and India, we believe wholeheartedly that it has the potential of benefiting the entire world,” said the Chairman of USIACC, KV Kumar.
“The agreement sets an example of how the world respects and trusts a country when it practices discipline and acts responsibly,” added Bharat Bhargava, President of USIACC.
USIACC is taking its message of support to the US lawmakers as they ponder on this matter of far reaching importance.

US Indian American Chamber of Commerce (USIACC) opens it's Indian Headquarters base in Bangalore
Announced 2006 National Convention to be held in Washington on October 11 & 12
Washington, DC
AMERICA PUTS ITS BETS ON INDIA: The United States Indian American Chamber of Commerce (USIACC) announces its 2006 Annual National Convention, the theme of which is “Promoting Trade and Investment between India and the United States.” The Convention will be to be held on October 11 and 12 in the conference facilities of US federal (central) Government buildings in Washington, DC. Prominent US and Indian government officials and business leaders are expected to be part of the 500-plus attendees.
USIACC National Chairman, KV Kumar stated that Mr. Frederick W. Schoenhut, Chairman of New York Board of Trade will be the Convention Chairman. Mr. Kandy Anand, Vice President of The Coca Cola Company and Mr. Bharat Bhargava, National President of USIACC will serve as Co-Chairs. Mr. V. Gopal Krishnan, Resident Director of USIACC, India will be the principal liaison from India for the USIACC Convention.
Headquartered in Washington, DC, with offices in New York, Maryland, Virginia, Nevada, California, Arizona and Georgia, USIACC is engaged in fostering the enabling environment for Indian American businesses, and in strengthening the ability of these businesses to benefit from the emerging opportunities.

The USIACC held its first annual convention in Washington, DC on October 11-12, 2005. The convention was a grand success. Highest level of government and business officials, and VIP’s from both USA and India converged on the convention floor of the Renaissance Washington DC Hotel. They included India’s Ambassador to the US, Ronen Sen, SBA Administrator Hector Barreto, US GSA Administrator Stephen A. Perry, and Ambassador Raminder S. Jassal, Deputy of Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Al Frink, Assistant Secretary, US Department of Commerce, Vernon Parker, Assistant Secretary, USDA, and Theresa Speake, Director of Office of Economic Impact & Diversity, US Department of Energy. The two-day convention and business extravaganza started out with a briefing at the White House and covered wide range of topics, such as energy, international trade and commerce; transportation, aviation and tourism; and banking, finance and investment opportunities; as well as a women in business forum and a youth forum. US federal (central) government officials offered coveted advice on how to win lucrative government contracts. The convention was a major step for the Chamber toward achieving its objective of bringing Indian and American SME’s together with US and Indian governments.
The Chamber was launched on September 22, 2004 on the trading floor of the New York Board of Trade, by the Honorable Hector Barreto, Administrator, US Small Business Administration. Since its launch, USIACC has made remarkable progress by participating in and sponsoring a number national events both in India and the US, and starting chapters and affiliate offices in Washington, DC, Arizona, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Nevada, Georgia and California.
USIACC has signed memorandum of understanding with US Small Business Administration, US Departments of Energy, Agriculture, Interior, Environmental Protection Agency and the Indian Merchants’ Chamber in Mumbai, India.
Last week, USIACC and ASSOCHAM signed a MoU at ASSOCHAM House in New Delhi with an understanding to have more structured and cooperative efforts, thus bringing the governments and the businesses in both the countries closer.
Also, last week USIACC National Chairman, President and Chair of the USIACC Women’s Wing met with central Cabinet Ministers and Senior Government Officials in New Delhi to both invite them to attend the Convention in October, but also to understand and discuss the issues of importance to both India and the United States of America. This was done in part to find ways and means of bringing incremental value on investments between the two of the world’s largest democracies. In addition, Press Conferences were held in New Delhi and Mumbai which was well attended by both print and electronic media. In Mumbai, Door Darshan invited Mr. Kumar and Mr. Bhargava for a live interview on their television “Business News”, which was nationally televised on live show.
The first to become USIACC’s corporate partners were the New York Board of Trade, Standards & Poor’s, Coca Cola Co., Housing Development Finance Corporation, Air India, Hindtron, PAETEC Communications, MITEL, Atlantic Inc., among others.
