LA NRI Community bid adieu to Strategist KV Kumar who moves to Washington DC

"Bangalore Born, KV Kumar who started his career at the World Bank, as a management consultant to entrepreneurs, NGOs, small and large businesses and also served all Presidents from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama, was moved again to Washington DC to serve as co-chair at Republican National Committee (RNC) afer spending 8 years in Los Angeles area," said Gary Singh. “He had dedicated over a third of his life to serving the community as a volunteer, starting with taking care of his grandparents at an early age to helping the senior citizens of Washington, DC area in the late sixties then turned to helping the needy individuals, NGO's, small businesses, entrepreneurs and other worthy causes, according to his writings in our weblinks.”

KV Kumar told the audience: " I spent 8 years in California and these years are one of the best days in my life where I have been able to make so many memories and do several important works.”

He also added: " I helped to the US Congress in passing of the TBI Act- Traumatic Brain Injury Act. Under Trump, the Indo-US relationship will fare better than it has been under any other American president."

Mr KV Kumar was given a fond farewell by The Federation of Indian Community of Southern California together with Indian American Republicans of California, Lions Club of Little India and Gopio-Orange County. The event was held on Saturday, April 8 at The Tandoor Restaurant, Orange CA.

Congressman Ed Royce, Chairman, House Foreign Affairs Committee said, " I am glad that kuma is moving to Washington and he will be great asset for indian community to strengthen their close partnership politically. KV has dedicated his life to the cause of Indian-Americans and travelled all his life around the world with only one thought in mind. The program started with welcome address by Chairman Dilip Butani, followed by introduction of the Executive Team by President Amrit Bhandari. This was followed by National Anthems of USA and India and Pledge of allegiance. Next Dr. Krishna Reddy,  Dr. Janak Chopra and Mr. Gurjeet Singh spoke about Mr KV Kumar.

 

This was followed by speeches by the invited guests that included by Consul Venkata Ramanan, Chino Hills Mayor Ray Marquez, Artesia Mayor Ali S Taj, Cerritos Mayor Pro Tem Naresh Solanki, Former Mayor of Cypress Dr Prakash Narain and Gopio Chairman Inder Singh. Each one spoke high about Mr Kumar.

Mr KV Kumar in his keynote speech touched various subject including the Traumatic Brain Injury Act, in which he was instrumental in getting it passed. He thanked and said he would miss California. In the end, executive VP Mohan Sharma thanked everyone. The program was followed by a sumptuous dinner. The executive team that put up this memorable program included Dilip Butani, Amrit Bhandari, Mohan Sharma, Ajay Khetani, Smita Das, Aparna Hande, Dr Sinduri, Dr Noor, and Siddharth Pathak.
