After all, there have not been many candidates in our lifetime who we would label as “good” politicians. So we started thinking about the qualities an ideal politician would possess in order for us to actually endorse them. NRI 2nd generation have unique qualities. We gather information through interview and research, we observed about Ricky Gill:·

  • He is 24 years old young politician but you would never think he’s 24….looks much older.
  • Ricky Gill is a lifelong learner” with many different interests from public education to farming to immigration and health care.
  • He always had a high regard for his native community and NRI community
  • He said, “Congress and the federal government can help ensure that investment in agriculture increases and that our agriculture products find markets overseas.”·
  • About NRIs, he said that he is proud to be an Indian origin. NRI have great family values, believe in hard working and in education. He always respect and have been indispensable in his journey.

Dalip Singh Sethi announced, FUND RAISING party at his house for a young SHINING STAR Ricky Gill.

Mr. Sethi had sent emails and broachers to his friends and NRI community to get together on June 4, 2011 to raise funds for Ricky Gill. He said we do have a moral responsibility to help RANJIT SINGH GILL who is going to fight a tough election for US CONGRESS from 11TH Congressional district and to go to WAHINTON DC to represent all of us.

Dalip Singh Sethi has been the sole turbaned dealer for General Motors in the entire United States. Mr. Sethi gives one-tenth of his income each year to enhancing the well being of his community. In 2001, he started Riverside-based "Perfect Attendance Program" awards twenty scholarships, a dozen brand-new Chevrolet cars, and twenty cutting-edge computers to local schools every year.

ABOUT RICKY GILL:

  • Ricky Gill, Princeton University graduate, is very articulate. He is only 24 years old but by the time primaries roll around in June 2012, Gill will have reached the constitutionally-mandated age of 25. If elected, “Ricky” Gill could become the youngest U.S. representative and would be the third Indian-American elected to Congress after Dilip Singh Saund in 1956 and Bobby Jindal in 2005.
  • In 2004, at the age of 17, he was named member of California State Board of Education by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He was the youngest member of the administration and the sole representative of more than six million public school students
  • In August, 2004, he delivered remarks regarding educational equity at the California Republican Party convention in San Diego.
  • As co-chairman of the Greater Lodi Area Youth Commission, Ricky helped promote career and educational opportunities for local youth.
  • His work in public education continued in 2005 as an adviser to the California Secretary for Education
  • Ricky has served as a policy consultant for Educational Testing Service (ETS) in Princeton, NJ.
  • He was named Tokay High School class valedictorian and earning the Frank H. and Eva B. Buck Scholarship for postgraduate study-- to attend Princeton University
  • As a college freshman, he championed the property rights of local farmers in a Lodi News-Sentinel op-ed article. Bringing his knowledge of educational issues to Capitol Hill, he spent the summer of 2006 working for former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) and the Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions
  • He accepted an internship in the front office with the Sacramento Kings, helping assess talent in preparation for the annual NBA draft
  • At Princeton University, he submitted his senior thesis under the supervision of Professor Jim Leach who had served 30 years as a Republican Congressman from Iowa.
    · Ricky Gill graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
  • In 2009, he continued his education at the law school, University of California, Berkeley.
  • In 2010, he worked as a legal counselor for the Oakland Athletics to help numerous litigation loopholes for the club.
  • He also served as a math and literacy mentor at KIPP Bay Area charter schools
  • According to the Lodi News-Sentinel: he believes his youth is an asset and has a willingness to embrace a new generation (in politics).

Ricky Gill’s Goals:

  • There isn’t a single legislator at the state or federal level who actually resides in San Joaquin County· Creating more jobs for the 11th District area, bringing down the cost of health care and making structural changes to Congress — such as advocating for a presidential line-item veto and a single subject rule for legislation — and defending and reforming public education.
  • The state government has rules in place to sort of stay on point that the federal government doesn’t have. You should not have one mammoth piece of legislation that touches on 10 different subjects.
  • He has always been interested in public education. The public education is the single best investment we can make to ensure that America remains a competitive force in the global economy. The parents must have an important role to play in education reform and deserve a choice in the schools their children attend.
