Hanwant Bir Singh passed away after battling serious health complications for the past two months. He had heart failure and kidney failure and his body gave out at the end.

Sardar Hanwant Bir Singh Sawhney (1934–2026) lived a life defined by faith, hard work, and service to others. After moving to the United States in 1988, he built a successful business while always staying committed to helping those around him. He was a devoted member of Sri Guru Singh Sabha Walnut, where he served in many leadership roles and uplifted the community through selfless seva. Known for his kind heart and generosity, he believed that helping others brings Waheguru’s blessings. He also strongly encouraged younger generations to learn Punjabi culture and Sikh values. After being ill for the past two months with heart and kidney failure, his body gave out, but his impact on the community will always be remembered.
