In 2002, Gurdial Kaur Khangura had contested from this constituency
and lost to SAD candidate Jagdish Singh Garcha.

Mr. Jasbir Singh Khangura s/o Mr. Jagpal Singh Khangura
got the ticket of the Lok Sabha Elections from the Qila Raipur Constituency
on the order of High Command. This was declared on 17th January,
07 with the rest of the 97 Congress Seats out of total 117 seats.
Mr. Jassi Khangura straight away went to pay homage in Golden Temple
Amritsar right after the seat was declared. A meeting was organized
at their native village, Latala in the evening to inform and thank
all the important people of the 82 villages of the Constituency.
Accompanying him in the photograph are Mr. H.S. Grewal and Mr. Soni
