The much awaited 5th NRI tournament of the Tricity of Chandigarh,Panchkula and Chandimandir finally Teed off at the Chandigarh golf club with a super drive by none other than Jeev Milkha Singh himself. The weather and the ambiance at the chandigarh was perfect for a golf for the 113 NRI s that dawned upon the city from 10 different countries, though the majority of them came from USA and Canada.

The tournament here was organized by Chandigarh golf Association with the able help and contribution of Chandigarh golf Club, Chandirmandir Golf Club, Panchkula golf Club and the Chandigarh administration along with Chandigarh Tourism Association.

The tournament offered a great opportunity for allowing mingling of Indians from different countries and sharing their varied experiences with their Indian counterparts.It was an atmosphere of fun and frolic with great golf in the day time and impressive get to gathers in the evening, replete with cultural shows and showcasing of sumptuous Indian cuisines, that was very much appreciated by the overseas guests.

The tournament was played based on Peoria system for calculation of results.This gave a fare chance to all players notwithstanding their handicaps.In this system the handicap of the players is calculated on the basis of the days play and then the result is computed.

The tournament championship trophy (Gross) was annexed by Amarjit (‘Tony’) Brara of USA, who played excellent Golf for all Three days. The runners up trophy went to Niel S Chahal again of USA. The nett trophy went to Dalminder Singh Minhas again of the USA. There were daily prizes too which went to Bobby Kang (USA) on Day one,Jazzy Sihota(USA)on day Two and Tony Brara on the Third Day.

The last day Match was held at Panchkula where the Chief Minister of Haryana, Mr. Bhupinder Sigh Hooda gave away the Prizes and also donated Rs. 5 Lacs to the CGA.Rs two lac were also gifted to CGA by the golfging Champion Tony Brara along with his die- hard companions and supporters, Paul Dhaliwal and Nachattar Singh Bhullar, all from the USA, as there token of appreciation to the organizers for managing to run the much enjoyed Golfing Tour in the Tri-city flawlessly.
