Aaron Spelling's
$150 Million House for Sale
The most expensive home for
sale in the United States.
March 27, 2009
Candy Spelling, widow of Aaron Spelling, the legendary TV producer,
is putting her Los Angeles estate on the market for $150 million—the
most expensive home for sale in the United States.
The property, known as the Manor, is located in the Holmby Hills
area of L.A., close to the Los Angeles Country Club and the Playboy
Mansion. Built in 1991—just around the time Beverly Hills
90210 started to take off—the 56,500-square-foot French-château-style
home has more than 4.6 acres of land, making it the largest home
in Los Angeles County. The sprawling manse is reported to have about
123 rooms and 16 to 26 bathrooms. Spelling says she doesn't have
an exact count.
Other features are a bowling alley, a wine cellar and tasting room,
a China room, a library, a gym, a humidity-controlled silver storage
room, a screening room, a barber shop, a beauty salon, and a gift-wrapping
room. Of course, you've also got your traditional pools, tennis
courts, and space for more than 100 vehicles.
