Pearl Entertainment Inc., held a press launch for the 13th annual
Miss Showbiz India USA beauty pageant 2008-09 at Chakra Creative
Indian Cuisine. A momentous year, Showbiz India TV celebrates
its 10th year anniversary of broadcasting south Asian entertainment.

The 20 semi-finalists were unveiled one by one to an applauding
audience of celebrities, sponsors, guests, reporters and judges.
The contestants were judged for Miss Beautiful Eyes and Miss Beautiful
Hair by a distinguished panel of judges, which mixed Hollywood's
elite with career professionals. Judges included, Smita Salgaonkar
(Former Mrs. Asia USA) Frank Mottek (Reporter, KNX 1070), Vithika
Agarwal (Former Miss India Asia Pacific) and Mohit Ramchandani
(screenwriter, co-founder Avatar Media Group)
Other celebrities in attendance included former Miss India and
Bollywood actress Pooja Batra, actor Ajay Mehta (“24”,
“Eli Stone”), actress Asha Puthli (“Savages”)
and 1st runner-up of Miss Showbiz India USA 2006/reigning 1st
runner up of Miss Global International Shilpa Mamidi.
Former Miss LA India and Executive Producer of Miss Showbiz India
USA/Showbiz India Television Network, Reshma Dordi, announced
some of the celebrities who will be attending the Final Pageant
on Saturday, October 11th at the historic Alex Theater in Glendale.
Aasif Mandvi, correspondent for the Daily Show with John Stewart
will be the celebrity emcee for the pageant. Dordi announced that
Bollywood producer/director Vikram Bhatt would also be attending
the final Pageant and scouting for talent. In addition, many other
celebrities, Hollywood and Bollywood alike, will be attending.
“Mission through the pageant is to provide a forum for
these young girls to showcase their talents and to grow socially,
culturally, spiritually and to build confidence, leadership skills
and life long relationships,” said Dordi.
The pageant is being sponsored by –ADI, Atrima Collections,
Chakra Creative Indian Cuisine, Dr. Parimal Kansagra, Maazda Travels,

The winners for the Miss Most Beautiful Hair and Miss Most Beautiful
Eyes will be announced at the finals on October 11th in the Alex
