RAKESH SINGH TAKES OVER AS CHIEF SECRETARY PUNJAB

Chandigarh March 26:
Mr. Rakesh Singh, a 1978 batch IAS officer, today took over the charge of Chief Secretary Punjab from Mr. S.C.Agrawal, IAS, who demitted office to take oath of Chief Commissioner of Right to Service Commission Punjab.
In a brief function Mr. Rakesh Singh signed the charge report in the office of Chief Secretary Punjab as outgoing Chief Secretary Mr. S.C.Agrawal welcomed him for new assignment.

Mr. Rakesh Singh who was serving on deputation with Union Government as Additional Secretary Finance and was appointed Chief Secretary Punjab on 14th March, has a rich varied experience on different assignments. He has served in Punjab as MD Punjab Khand Udyog, DC Ferozepur, Additional Secretary Personnel, MD CITCO, MD Sugarfed, MD Punjab Agro, MD PACL, MD PSIEC, Director Food and Civil Supplies, Secretary Higher Education, MD Punjab Electronic Corporation, Finance Secretary UT, MD PSIDC, Secretary Housing and Urban Development. Mr. Rakesh Singh has come to Punjab after 9 years deputation with Union Government, where he has worked on different assignments mainly in Union Finance Ministry.
Later in a function organized by different employees associations of state and Punjab Civil Secretariat, a warm send-off was given to outgoing Chief Secretary Mr. S.C. Aggarwal as various association leaders recalled his services.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. S.C. Agrawal welcomed new Chief Secretary Mr. Rakesh Singh to a challenging assignment. Mr. Rakesh Singh speaking on the occasion sought the cooperation of all employees to fulfill the development agenda of Punjab Government.
Later Mr. Rakesh Singh held a meeting with all Administrative Secretaries of the state.
