Bhojpuri Parivar celebrated HOLI – the festival of colors

Bhojpuri Parivar in continuation and keeping the legacy of celebrating festival of colors HOLi in grand style along with hundreds of friends and loved ones, organized Holi Milan Samaroh 2015 at Westgate Park on March 8th in Cerritos, Southern California. Holi is on the most popular and vibrant festivals in the Hindu culture and it’s celebrated all over the world.

Past so many years many well-wishers, friends and fans of Bhojpuri parivar look forward to celebrating holi organized by Bhojpuri parivar which brings them close to their mother land, and meet people from their home country,  interact in their own language, tons of colors, delicious food, Bhojpuri music, faag, hori sangeet, dance and masti for all age groups.   
Hundreds of guests arrived ahead of scheduled time showing their love towards this festival and commitment to Bhojpuri Parivar, which has been working relentlessly to bring Bhojpuri community together from all parts of USA and Canada and spread the message of unity and love across different cultures as well.


 The crowd went wild when the program began with a poem recited by Rohit J Singh, Founder of Bhojpuri Parivar, who was the master of ceremony for this event:

 Sabne bahut rang udaaya holi ke din,
Badalone phool barsaya holi ke din,
Jab kissi ‘Heer’ ne daala ‘Ranjhe’ par rang
Tum bahut yaad aaye holi ke din…
Rango ki khumaari chadti hai har umra par,
Nav rupasi kya, boodhiya bhi itaraye Holi ke din…  

 

The program started with traditional faag sung and presented by Radha Krishna Mandli they have been integral part of all the Bhojpuri Parivar’s celebrations. The members of this mandli hails from Fiji and Neeraj Pratap who is also Vice-President of Bhojpuri Parivar sung traditional songs which forced all the guests to dance. On Friday guests from both groups also celebrated Holika Dahan at Mandli’s temple in Hawthorne.

Renowned bhojuri singer from Bihar, India Chandan Tiwari devoted special album to Bhojpuri Parivar “Faag Raag” on this occasion due to some unforeseen problem she was not able to join but sent her best wishes along with CD. The CD was inaugurated by Rajiv Srivastava, President of Bhojpuri Parivar, who welcomed all the guest and said “Holi is the time to unwind, de-stress and bond with sweets, thandai and colors. Comes let’s rejuvenate by immersing ourselves in the color of joy, happiness and laughter”.
Shri Kamta Prasad Rai, Professor of Cal-Poly university also presented few traditional old songs which filled the whole atmosphere full of fun. Guests from all age groups enjoyed tons of colors, delicious thandai and mouthwatering food, music and dance played by DJ at the event.


Women volunteers have always been very integral part of any event of Bhojpuri Parivar. They always help the Parivar in preparations which starts few month before event. Bhojpuri Parivar thanked them for all the hard work and contribution especially Anuradha Baranwal, Lubna Singh, Anu Srivastava, Rowena Pratap, Suman Shukla, Anshu Bhambani and Uma Gupta.

Bhojpuri Parivar like every year, received blessings and good wishes for its Holi celebration from prominent dignitaries India, during the event Rohit J Singh presented various video clips and good wishes from these renowned personalities among them were Smt. Sheila Dikshit - Governor Kerala, Smt. Mridula Sinha - Governor Goa, Shri. Lalu Prasad Yadav – Former Union Railway Minister, Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia-  Vice President BJP, Shri Amarjeet Mishra, President of Abhiyaan NGO India, and Secretary, BJP Mumbai., he also is an advisor for Bhojpuri Parivar.

Shri. Rameshwar Chaurasia in his message thanked Bhojpuri Parivar for bringing together Bhojpuriya Community in USA, and for their active involvement in helping shape the growth story of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Shri. Amarjeet Mishra echoed similar sentiments and said “I am very proud to see the inspiring work done by Bhojpuri Parivar to keep Bhojpuri culture alive through its hard work. It’s important to have such organizations overseas so that the upcoming generations could become aware of its roots, the Bhojpuri language and traditions”.

This event was also covered by Raj Nangia from TV Asia channel. Live telecast of video/audio clips from Shri Rameshwar Chaurasia & Shri Amarjeet Mishra was played who conveyed their best wishes to Bhojpuri Parivar and guests. Rohit J Singh thanked all the committee members and volunteers who helped them to organize such successful event to name few are Rajan Sukhla, Anoop Baranwal, Neeraj Paratap, Brajesh Kumar, Jyoti Gupta, Ankit Shah, Kunal Mishra
