NRI Jasbir Singh Tung a resident of Chino, California
came here from Punjab for further studies in 1966. After completing
his Aeronautical Engineering from Southern College of Engineering
and Technology, India, he got admission in California State University,
Pomona. He got his degree in Industrial Engineering from California
Polytechnical University, Pomona, CA, USA.
Mr. Tung got his first job as an Industrial Engineer in 1970 at
Arnold Engineering, Fullerton, CA. There he climbed on top of the
ladder as a Chief Engineer and later moved to the management and
retired as a Vice President of Operations.
In 1987 he ventured into business for himself and launched a consulting
firm under the name of “J.S. Tung Associates.” Where
he consulted with national and international firms in Management
and Industrial Engineering.
During 1991 he purchased chain of fast food stores “Subway”
and entered in the Petroleum business as well. He ran these businesses
successfully and in 2000 purchased BP – Arco AM/PM International
Franchise.
He is a community activist. In spite of his busy schedule he finds
time for community service. He has been President and Chairman of
Sikh Gurdwara of Los Angeles, CA, (Lankershim Gurdwara). Also he
has been Vice President of Vermont Gurdwara, Los Angeles. As well
as he has been a Trustee of Lankershim Gurdwara and Riverside Gurdwarta.
He is also on the board of World Sikh Council-America.
He is married with 3 children, two sons and a beautiful daughter.
All the three children are doctors. What a great achievement?
His hobbies include Golf, Tennis and travelling. He has been three
time recipient of Golf Tournament awards in Southern California.
