A successful fund raising dinner for Ricky Singh Gill
Running for U.S. Congress 2012

Ricky Singh Gill, a good looking and very enthusiastic young gentleman arrived at Mr. Dalip Singh and Mrs. Rupina Sethi’s house to meet the NRI Community on June 4, 2011 at 7pm. It was organized by Dalip Singh and Mrs. Rupina Sethi, Dr. Harb & Barbara Brar with the help of Host Committee members. The evening began with a social gathering where guests were welcomed by Mr. and Mrs. Sethi. Various professional and successful business people also attended the fundraising event from the Los Angeles area.
At 8pm, Mr. Dalip Singh Sethi shared some of his concerns about present NRI issues and expressed the need of the younger generation to come forward and take NRI concerns and problems to Congress. He also shared and praised Ricky’s involvement in the community; how he started his campaign in his own San Joaquin County in California.
Ricky Singh Gill, who is running for U. S. Congress California’s 11th Congressional District was born and raised in Lodi, California. He is the son of immigrant parents who are both accomplished physicians and farmers. Ricky and his family bear witness to the power of the American dream.
Later in the evening, Mr. Dalip Sethi introduced Ms. Dineet Wadhwa, former Miss South Asia and spoke about how we can support the young generation and to bring them in Congress to increase awareness and realize NRI problems. She then introduced Ricky Singh Gill. Ricky thanked the audience and shared some of his concerns about the problems that NRIs are facing. Following his speech, were questions from the audience including one from Dr. Harkeerat Singh Dhillon, a well-known hand surgeon from Riverside.
Mr. Dalip Singh Sethi also introduced another young star Harsimranjit Singh Bohgunh , son of Parmjit Singh Bohgunh from Riverside, California and Chairman of the local Gurdwara. Simranjit is an extremely intelligent young boy who has consistently demonstrated academic success. He spoke and praised Ricky Singh Gill’s speech and said how much he was impressed by it and how it fueled him to go toward the same direction and follow in his footsteps.
At 9pm, Mr. Sethi thanked everyone and asked all to enjoy the dinner, which was catered from Punjab Restaurant in Riverside. It was a successful fundraising function, attended by 80-100 people whom thoroughly enjoy the function.
