BRAMPTON WEST-MISSISSAUGA
Vic Dhillon
Vic and his wife Shaminder of 10 years have two children,
a three-year-old son, Robin, and a baby girl, Taj,
which was born during the recent provincial election
on September 11, 2004.
Vic has called Brampton his home for 20 years where
he attended high school and later attended Lakehead
University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration.
He was also instrumental in establishing a family
owned business in Mississauga.
Prior to becoming a MPP, Vic was employed as the executive
assistant to Colleen Beaumier, MP, Brampton West -
Mississauga, where he assisted numerous constituents
regarding their various issues. He held this position
for over nine years before seeking to represent the
people of Brampton West - Mississauga. Vic was also
the Liberal candidate for the riding in 1999.
Vic continues to be an active member of the community
in representing constituent's issues and solving their
problems. Vic has taken a leading role in many non-profit
fundraising campaigns such as initiating specific
drives for the Food Bank in Brampton and leading a
local group that collected much needed supplies for
the devastating ice storm in Eastern Ontario. Vic
has always taken the time to help the less fortunate
members of our society.
Vic was elected as a Member of Provincial Parliament
for the Brampton West - Mississauga riding on October
2, 2003, and currently serves on the Standing Committee
on General Government as Vice-Chair. Vic looks forward
to meeting and representing the residents of Brampton
West - Mississauga.
