Dr. Ruby Dhalla Is Awarded 'Outstanding Woman Hotelier of the Year Award 2024' by The World's Largest Hotel Association "AAHOA", Continuing Her Legacy To Championing Women!

[Orlando, Florida] - Dr. Ruby Dhalla, hotelier, humanitarian & history maker as the first woman of Indian origin to be elected as a Member of Parliament in Canada and the Western world and CEO & President of the Dhalla Group of Companies has been awarded the prestigious Outstanding Woman Hotelier of the Year Award.

Dr. Ruby received the award from One of the world's largest Hotel Associations, The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA), at its 35th Annual Hotel Convention in Orlando, Florida.

The award recognizes a woman hotelier for strong leadership and a commitment to lodging excellence, as significant contributions to the hospitality industry, and to her community.  The award applauds Dr. Ruby’s remarkable achievements and contributions in her short time in the hospitality industry despite her entry into the industry being prompted by a personal tragedy. Since the sudden passing of her brother, Dr. Neil Dhalla she assumed his responsibilities in the hospitality arena and has worked tirelessly since then to lead, build, and grow her team and company with the creation of a hotel fund and strategic hotel acquisitions in the USA and UAE markets.

Dr. Ruby has navigated the business landscape and hotel industry with resilience, innovation, and determination, despite many obstacles, challenges, and the grief of losing her beloved brother. Under her visionary leadership, the Dhalla Group has experienced remarkable growth in all of its sectors including healthcare, real estate, and hospitality.  This focus on excellence and forward-thinking initiatives has resulted in the Dhalla Group setting new benchmarks for success and driving positive change in the market.

Dr. Ruby Dhalla is a trailblazer whose pioneering career spans diverse domains. She made history as one of the youngest woman elected to Canada's Parliament and the first woman of Indian descent elected in the Western world as a Member of Parliament. Her dedication to creating change has earned global recognition, including being honored as a top 10 Global Indian by India's Prime Minister.  

In her role as a hotelier, she is actively involved in initiatives such as HerOwnership, where she provides support and guidance to women hoteliers and entrepreneurs. Most recently, she inspired the next generation of women and young hoteliers as the keynote speaker at the HerOwnership conference in Dallas, Texas in which she shared her remarkable journey in the hotel arena originating from a place of grief to overcoming challenges to launching a fund for hotel acquisition. Her strength, courage and determination are an inspiration to helping women and outsiders break barriers and lead the way in both politics and business.
