She finished second in Bramalea-Gore-Malton
to incumbent Dr. Kuldip Kular.

Pam Hundal, PC candidate speaks to supporters at the Chandni
Banquet Hall on Chrysler and said, she was pleased with her
campaign overall. \
Pam said:
- "I know this riding like the back of my hand. I can
tell you every issue in every neighbourhood. It's been a
great campaign.
- "I was always on a high because of my team. I was
also pleased with the encouragement I received from people
going door to door."
Hundal who ran on her strong track record of community involvement
including raising money for the new Brampton Civic Hospital
and because she believes voters need a stronger voice at Queen's
Park, led the charge.
Hundal came down on Kular hard from the start of the electoral
contest.
She took the incumbent to task on a number of issues including
the fact that Kular divides his time between serving as an
MPP and running a medical practice AND candidate for being
"a part-time MPP."
"Either be a doctor or be an MPP. He's double dipping.
With a riding this size, you need full-time representation,"
Hundal said. "He's invisible. Half the residents don't
know he's the MPP. That's shocking."

HUNDAL, PAM | CANDIDATE - Bramalea-Gore-Malton
Pam brings to her riding a fresh approach mixed with experience
and knowledge of the issues affecting local constituents.
She prioritizes honesty and integrity as fundamental principles
to her campaign and political vision. Her education, combined
with her work experience, makes her a strong candidate and
she can relate to people of all socio-economic and cultural
backgrounds. Her track record proves her commitment to the
community through her volunteer work and active role in past
political campaigns.
Most important to Pam are the issues of: bed shortages and
funding for regional hospitals; keeping high schools safe
to allow youth to focus on education and increasing the number
of programs available to youths; becoming a voice for senior
citizens and ensuring their issues are heard and given the
importance they deserve; environmentally, maintaining green
space and increasing the number of parks and trails; developing
programs for unemployed individuals who need re-training and
minimizing the obstacles foreign trained professionals encounter;
increasing the availability of legal aid to those who cannot
afford legal advice or representation. On safety, Pam is concerned
about bringing in red light cameras along with introduction
of seat belts in school buses to protect the children who
ride them.
PC Candidate Pam Hundal
Campaign Kick Off
Brampton, ON, June 15 – "Playing Politics with
Healthcare is not acceptable!"
The provincial election campaign trail has kicked off with
the introduction of PC Candidate Pam Hundal to the riding
of Bramalea-Gore-Malton by former Premier of Ontario, Honourable
Bill Davis. "The cities of Brampton and Mississauga need
provincial representation from a qualified candidate like
Pam Hundal," exclaimed Mr. Davis.
The gala event held on Thursday, June 14, 2007, was well
attended by over 300 members of the community and distinguished
guests including MPP Candidate in Brampton West, Mark Beckles,
former Councillor Garnett Manning and MPP in Oxford, Ernie
Hardeman, who is also Municipal Affairs and Housing Critic
for the Official Opposition. The mood was enthusiastic and
positive as Pam Hundal addressed the room with her concerns
and those of the Ontario PC Party, led by Mr. John Tory, for
the riding and the Province of Ontario. Key PC Party platform
areas were addressed to the guests such as eliminating the
unfair regressive Health tax, committing over 800 million
dollars to Education and making the property tax system fair
by implementing a 5% cap on annual assessment increases.
"Brampton is where I was born and raised. It's important
to me to improve and give the riding of Bramalea-Gore-Malton
and its constituents the attention they deserve," said
Pam Hundal."Together with John Tory's Plan for a Better
Ontario, I will get us that attention."
Pam Hundal continued to point out the shortfalls of the McGuinty
government and the many promises that were made but did not
delivered upon. "The new BramptonHospital is just one
example of a broken Liberal promise. The hospital is not being
given the full funding it was promised and without such funding,
the Hospital will open with fewer than the 600+ beds it was
supposed to have." Pam Hundal has been involved in fundraising
initiatives for the Hospital for the past 2 years. She directly
questioned the current MPP for the riding, Dr. Kular, asking
what he has done to fight for the 600 beds the Hospital was
promised. "It is time to give the riding more than a
figurehead in government," she concluded. "For a
better Ontario, leadership matters!"
Wikinews' Nick Moreau
requested an interview regarding her values, her experience,
and her campaign. In response:
Why have you chosen to involve yourself in the political
process? Why did you choose to run in this constituency?
I have been door knocking over the past four months, and
also have initiated meetings with several institutions such
as the Peel Regional Police, Peel District School Board Tele-health,
and many seniors groups to help me understand the needs from
the point of view of the professionals who run these institutions.
I have received much apathy through my door knocking. Bluntly,
they feel the current MPP has been absent. They do not feel
they have received the attention they deserve and feel that
the faith they put into there vote 4 years ago went ignored.
They do not feel an area as large as BGM, which is one of
the largest ridings has had the representation needed both
at Queens Park and as a communication link with the municipality.
Currently we have a sitting Liberal MPP Dr. Kular who is more
concerned about putting the mighty dollar in his pocket by
running is medical practice part-time and running as an MPP
part-time. This riding needs a full-time MPP. I commit to
my voters and the residents of this riding that I will be
a full-time MPP and be here for you before the election and
after the election as well.
