NRI Suhana Gill has taken a leap into public life, becoming the youngest-ever city councilor of Surrey in British Columbia, Canada. She took the oath of office on November 2, joining the newly elected Surrey City Council led by Mayor Doug McCallum.
Gill completed her high school education at the age of 15 and went on to pursue political science at Kwantlen Polytechnic University (KPU). She completed her bachelor’s degree at 19. Her political ambitions, however, did not emerge overnight. Her involvement in public affairs, youth advocacy and community initiatives had already positioned her as a young voice in Surrey’s civic landscape.
she said, :-

• I am running with the Safe Surrey Coalition because I believe public service begins with a responsibility: to listen to the people you represent and leave your community better than you found it.
• I graduated high school at 15 and completed my bachelor’s degree in political science at 19. I have worked with the House of Commons, contributed as a CBC News panelist, worked in the non-profit sector, built a career in real estate, and served my community. I have also represented more than 22,000 university students, teaching me the importance of listening to people from every stage of life.
• I am running to help build a Surrey where families feel secure, growth is managed responsibly, and our city keeps moving forward. I will bring that dedication to City Hall for Surrey, with transparency and a commitment to meaningful action.
