Showbiz India TV marks 16th Anniversary with Women Empowerment and Influential Leaders
Showbiz India’s Sweet 16th Anniversary Party was a star -studded event, as celebrities from both Bollywood and Hollywood came out to celebrate 16 strong years of entertainment as the premier South Asian television show, and its recent launch on Zee Cinema and Zing networks. The red carpet event was hosted at Spice Affair, the newest Indian indulgent dining experience in Beverly Hills.
The event was presented by Etihad Airways and commemorated Women Empowerment and Influential Leaders which catered to a full house. It began with red carpet appearances where the press gathered to interview special guests of the evening.
The Sweet 16 celebration marked the coming of age of South Asian talent, as the guest list encompassed an eclectic range of popular South Asian personalities to the new generation of emerging artists in mainstream entertainment.
The evening kicked off with a glamorous fashion show by Officially Couture by Maneka which showcased Indian fusion western wear and the latest in Indian Bridal trends.
Host Priyanka Singha took a moment to bring attention to the topic of caste-based child prostitution in India while speaking about her involvement inanupcoming documentary film, Bulbul: Song of the Nightingale. Singha addressed the importance of raising awareness on such topics, within the South Asian community and the need for a call to action. With this theme in mind, actor Annet Mahendru was announced as the Guest of Honor for the event and was presented with Showbiz India’s award as an Emerging Leader in Entertainment. The Indian-Russian, Afghanistan born star delivered her speech in Hindi and in English while touching on her journey into the industry. Mahendru was accompanied by her father and was touched with the recognition thanking both her parents. Etihad Airways representative Tami Lumbatis presented the award. The event concluded with the crowning of two Reshma Femme winners for the “Best Hair”and “Best Skin” awards. The gala extended into the wee hours of the morning as celebrities and guests inspired cupcakes that were provided by Saffron Spots. DJ Itesh of Needle Free Productions kept the music spinning all night long, mashing together the latest and greatest American and Bollywood hits. Additional sponsors forthe event included Aikyum Solar, Reshma Femme, Eros Entertainment, Sufi Wines, Maazda Travels, Amrita Singh, Saffron Spots, Shail K, Spice Affair and Officially Couture by Maneka. Etihad Airways was the headlining sponsor of the16Th Anniversary event.

Actor/Producer and Former Miss India USA, Priyanka Singha hosted the event with co-host, Nikhil Dhawan, Showbiz India’s News Correspondent and founder of dha 1 Fashion. The young hosts delivered a playful and witty banter engaging the audience throughout the night. 
The night’s main event culminated with a sincere speech from the Host and Creator of Showbiz India TV, Reshma Dordi. Dordi touched on her experiences as a female entrepreneur and her 16-year long journey with Showbiz India and her newly created beauty product line, Reshma Femme. Capturing the attention of the audience, Dordi spoke passionately about the current events in India in regards to women’s issues, discrimination and social injustices, urging individuals to take responsibility as a greater society.
