NRIs currently living and working as illegal
aliens in the USA would be allowed to apply

"Washington, DC The American Immigration
Lawyers Association (AILA) applauds Senators John
McCain (R-AZ) and Edward Kennedy (D-MA), and Representatives
Jim Kolbe (R-AZ), Jeff Flake (R-AZ), and Luis Gutierrez
(D-IL) for their efforts to reform our immigration
law and their introduction of the bipartisan Secure
America and Orderly Immigration Act.
We commend these Members of Congress for not
only recognizing that our current immigration system
is broken, but doing something about it by introducing
comprehensive, bipartisan immigration reform,
said Jeanne Butterfield, Executive Director of the
American Immigration Lawyers Association.
Under this Act, illegal aliens who meet
certain conditions would be granted a six-year visa
after paying a penalty of $1,000. Their employment
period in the US and specific conditions would be
considered. The H5-B holder non-immigrant visas could
then be adjusted to permanent residency.
More than 10 million illegal workers are living
in the USA and majority of these are Mexicans and
Cubans. NRI, illegal aliens are mostly
GUJRATIs and estimated about 45,000-60,000. Immigration
experts say illegal workers live and work under the
constant threat of discovery and deportation
