Dhaliwal shot to death as gang-style shooting

NRI Sukhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, 32, shot to death in a targeted
hit in North Delta while out on bail. He was found dead as slumped
over next to his grey Cadillac.
Abbotsford Police Const. Casey Vinet told media::
- Sukhwinder Singh Dhaliwal, also known aliases "DB"
or "Shinda and well-known to police because he was heavily
involved in the drug trade.
- In May 2008, he was arrested and charged with drug and gun offences
- The Abbotsford drug squad seized 48 grams of cocaine, more than
7.5 ounces of crack cocaine, $7,000 in cash, and 36 grams of heroin
and two loaded handguns.
- In Surrey, last year, he was also convicted in a threatening
case and paid a $500 fine
.Dhaliwal's brother-in-law said:
- We don't know...we can't say anything.
- Dhaliwal's mother is out of the Country and trying to reach
ASAP
A preliminary inquiry had been scheduled on April 01, 2009 in Abbotsford
provincial court.
After the bail, he went to India in January.
According to the police report, he had worked at a cellphone company
and quit the company in February 2008
RCMP officials said: the Indo-Canadians are primarily specializing
in the transport of marijuana, with so many in the community involved
in the commercial trucking industry. He said the Indo-Canadians
are contracting to other crime groups to deliver their product.
