Maya Sarihan is Miss India America 2014, judged by Bollywood and Hollywood

The tall and gorgeous Maya Sarihan, from Arizona, won Miss India America 2014, as the handsome Nick Thakor was declared Mr. India America 2014. The sold out red carpet gala was hosted by Spirit Of India for its 22nd year and presented by Star Plus TV, Life OK. Wells Fargo, South Asia Magazine, and JINmodels.com at the Renaissance Hotel, Los Angeles on Aug. 23, 2014

The red carpet had mass media and photographers, with much glam and power being added by many actresses, actors, models, producers, directors, agents, etc. South Asia Magazine’s cover girl actress Bai Ling was a major hit on the red carpet by all media.

The night before the pageant, the contestants had a private meet and greet with Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, where he gave them great advice on the film industry. All the contestants appreciated the time Anurag Kashyap took with them, and he even ended the night with a personal picture with each semi-finalist. During the pageant, contestants did two catwalks in traditional formal wear and western formal wear. The audience was also treated to many contestants that displayed their talent with a lot of confidence and energy.

Top Miss India winners were: Miss India Globe 2014 - Meghana Pagadala, Miss India Global 2014 - Vivica Mitra (plus JINmodels.com Miss Photogenic 2014), Miss India Galaxy 2014 – Nishtha Chawla from Virginia, Trisha Batra – Miss Teen India America 2014, Miss India East Coast 2014 –Divya Trivedi (from New Jersey), and Miss India West Coast 2014 - Jackie Kahlon. Star Plus TV’s People’s Choice was Rebecca Mathew from Chicago.

Top Mr. India winners were: Kunwar Dodd (from Canada) - Mr. India Globe 2014, Shawn Singh - Mr. India Global 2014, Prakash Patil (from New York) - Mr. India Galaxy 2014, Dhaval Panchal (from North Carolina)  Mr. India East Coast 2014 and Star TV’s People’s Choice award, and Maneet Singh - Mr. India West Coast 2014 and JINmodels.com Mr. Photogenic 2014.

Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap admitted he had been invited to many pageants, but Spirit Of India’s pageant was the first he attended. Anurag expressed, “I didn’t know what to expect, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I had the time of my life.”

Honored during The Elite Awards 2014 for his exceptional achievement was the hottest and busiest Bollywood filmmaker Anurag Kashyap (of hits Queen, Hasee Toh Phasee, Gangs of Wasseypur, Dev D, Black Friday, etc.). NBA Sacramento Kings owner Vivek Ranadive and NFL football player Bret Lockett (from Patriots and Jets) were also honored during The Elite Awards.

Actress Bai Ling was given a much deserved Elite Award for starring in many television and films in Hollywood and China (Wild Wild West, The Crow, Red Corner, etc.). Bai Ling expressed on stage, “I’m a big fan of Bollywood and Indian culture. It would be great to work in a Bollywood movie.”

Winner of the model search contest Beauty Of India 2014 was Jaya Prasad from New York.

Many past winners posed on the red carpet and went on stage to give away their titles to the new winners.
