NRI director, popular in porn movies, released "The Indian Playboy"

NRI Richard Menon of New Jersey, 42, founder and CEO of Ecstasyvision, is the first NRI to have shot porn movies in Los Angeles and started adult entertainment company in the US.

Richard Menon's latest documentary film and book "The Indian Playboy- Anatomy of a Porn Film" was released from 4th July 2007. The Indian born director at Los Angeles is the director of "Miss 2" a film on model aviation that made it to the New York International Film Festival 2004.

Unbelievable!!! Our press reporter confused and made more research, about this Guy and his movie. Our concerned was about the NRI director who have decided to shot porn movie under the name "The Indian Playboy."

I called Mr Richard Menon to confirm and to get more information.

He is very soft spoken entrepreneur and he replied, "It is kind of sexy. Wherever I go, fellow Indians look at me and smile. They might be wondering how this casual looking desi manages all those blond damsels?"

My next question was how India or NRIs will accept this kind of movie:

He replied, "I believes India is slowly opening up to the porn industry, which is so far illegal in the country. "Things are changing. Playboy is here. Debonair has been there for decades."

He continued:

• Many people have asked me why there is no nudity or sex in the film which is all about producing porn/erotic films? Thats the beauty of it! I made this film for the general audience and those who want to get the inner details of what goes on in an adult film shoot? Its easy to find nudity and sex but very difficult to get a film + book deal that answers all your questions. Most importantly, it is also the story of an entrepreneur who took the unconventional step of going into the Adult film world and risking his money, name and career.
• "The Indian Playboy" is a compendium of ideas on how to make a quality porn movie. And he didn't have to look far for the story idea. Menon used his own life as a backdrop.

• "To me sexiness is not about being beautiful or having a beautiful body. It could be anything. Her smile, the way she smells or the desire to excel in life. I have not seen many Indian women who have the complete package. However, I am sure that there are plenty of sexy Indian women around."
• It is kind of sexy. Wherever I go, fellow Indians look at me and smile.
• I do not plan to shoot any adult films in India. You can't handle the politicians and the women's rights groups there. However, I will do some of my conceptual and design work in India."
• In India everything is underground since it is not legal. In the US it is very highly regulated industry and employs hundreds of thousands of people directly or indirectly. The word porn is slowly fading and we refer to such films as adult or erotic.

The film was shot mostly in New Jersey and in New York during April 2007. The scenes that make up the Los Angeles shoot and the Bonus Swimsuit special were filmed in San Fernando, Los Angeles in May 2006.The film is set of interviews with my family, friends, landlord, production crew., investors etc and with myself

In the process you get to know the Indian Playboy and his amazing story of entrepreneurship. As a Film Maker its great to get recognition of any kind. I guess I will be happiest when I can earn a living from my films.

Richard Menon is from Trichur in Kerala State and have lived in Delhi, Vishakapatanam, Patna, Hyderabad and Bombay. He was 32 when he landed in the US. He graduated from Central School, R.K.Puram, New Delhi in 1975. His father was a Naval officer and mother a School teacher. His immediate family is not involved in his business in any way but they do stand by him.
