Navi Rawat

Navi Rawat is an American actress of Indian and German descent, was born on June 5, 1977 in Malibu, California. Her father, a Rajput from India and her mother is German. She was very interested in writing and intended to pursue at New York University. Her interest started in drama and later graduated as a double major with a degree in drama, English and American literature.

After graduation, she moved back to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time. Within few months:

  • She got several jobs, including a recurring role on the first season of “24” (2001- ) and as Ben Kingsley and Shoreh Agdashloo’s daughter in the critically acclaimed theatrical feature “House of Sand and Fog” (2003).
  • She act first starring role in the little-seen science-fiction thriller, “Thoughtcrimes.”
  • She appeared in the Project Greenlight film Feast (2005) and the indie romantic comedy Loveless in Los Angeles (2006)
  • 2005 proved to be the highest profile year in Rawat’s career.

In television, she is best known for her role as Theresa Diaz on the hit drama The O.C. and Amita Ramanujan on Numb3rs. Rawat displayed both cool intelligence and vulnerability as Amita Ramanujan, a brilliant mathematics and astrophysics professor who assisted Charlie Eppes (David Krumholtz) in pursuing criminals for the FBI. Amita also carried a torch for Charlie, but his awkwardness with personal relationships – to say nothing of her desire to further her career, led to several bumps on their rocky road to romance.

She has also had many smaller roles including playing Dana, a psychotic vampire slayer, on the Buffy spinoff, Angel.

Navi Rawat says, "You seduce a man with your gestures and It's the way you look at him with your eyes." From the way the 24-year-old actress is tempting the camera, she knows of what she speaks. Playing with her wavy, dark brown hair, she pouts and parts her lips, moves her voluptuous curves into a sexy pose, and slowly lifts the hem of her dress.

This is all a bit out of character, since Rawat doesn't usually flaunt her physical assets. "Being sexy didn't get you A's," she says.
