- Andrews got his start on television, starring in the
popular- to say nothing of racy - 1993 miniseries The
Buddha of Suburbia. The same year that he appeared in The English
Patient, the actor portrayed a haughty king in Mira Nair's Kama

Naveen Andrews
Naveen Andrews was born in January 17, 1969, London, England. His
mother Nirmala, a psychologist, and father Stanley Andrews, a businessman,
migerated to UK from Kerala, India. He was raised in Wandsworth,
South London and a "very repressive" upbringing.
He fell in love with his mathematics teacher, Geraldine Feakins
at the age of 16 and had a son, Jaisal, born in 1992. He went to
drama school and accepted at London's Guildhall School of Music
and Drama with Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis.
- He became popular for his role as Kip in The English Patient,
1996 and as Sayid in the popular television series Lost 2004.
- He fell in love with actress Barbara Hershey and they live
in Los Angeles. They separated in 2005. In the mean time he
had a son, Naveen Joshua, with another woman, Elena Eustache.
- In 2006, he was voted one of People magazine's World's Most
Beautiful People.
Naveen Andrews said:
- He had been playing the guitar since he was twelve.
- He would have liked to have traded places with Jimmy Hendrix
for a day just to have that kind of mind in terms of playing.
There were things that Hendrix did that I think would be impossible
for anybody else to get. They were things that will never happen
again.
- He was always in trouble from an early age. He had a fraught
relationship with his parents, who were very traditional.
- He had always been attracted to older women, because they know
who they are. They look infinitely better to me.
