Sarbjit Mann met president Bush in 1991 in Los Angeles in his meeting
with Asian community representatives. He was very pleased to meet
a Sikh. I am sure this was first time a local Sikh ever had a meeting
with sitting US president.
He migrated to USA in 1980. Since then he is managing his own
business mostly in field of health and medical services. Currently
he own group home facilities for medically disabled people.
He was founding president of Sikh Gurdwara of Los Angeles. He
was elected President of Gurdwara three times.
He had attended GOP convention in Houston in 1992 and being
a first Sikh to attend that convention, He I was treated respectfully
by various party officials like governors, congress men, senators
etc. I got tremendous coverage by CNN and other media outlets.
