SGPC to approach Pakistan Government on Gurudwara Kartarpur corridor issue

    Committee (SGPC) President Avtar Singh Makkar today said that the representative 
    Sikh body would be taking up the resolution of the Kartarpur Corridor issue 
    with Pakistan during its visit for celebrating the 538th birth anniversary 
    of Guru Nanak Dev.

Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee (SGPC) President Avtar Singh Makkar today said that the representative Sikh body would be taking up the resolution of the Kartarpur Corridor issue with Pakistan during its visit for celebrating the 538th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
Talking to reporters here before the 3000-strong Indian Sikh Jatha embarked on its train journey to Pakistan, Makkar said the issue of providing a corridor to the Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib where Guru Nanak Dev spent last 17 years of his life would be taken up.
Presently Sikhs converge at the international border and pay obeisance by looking at the Gurdwara on a sunny day.Makkar said that the SGPC had already put forth its demand to the Central Government.American Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee (AGPC) president Pritpal Singh said the AGPC would also take up the issue with the Pakistan Government.
