Indian American wins back New Jersey assembly seat

Indian American Upendra Chivukula, a Democratic assemblyman from New Jersey, has won back his seat.

"We won by a comfortable margin," Chennai-educated Chivukula said in a phone interview as results filtered in shortly after voting ended for the state Senate seat from the 17th District. He was referring to Democratic candidates, including him, running on the same slate for the assembly.
