NRI contribute Rs 5 crore for world-class school in
Jalandhar

NRI industrialist Lord Swraj Paul on Monday
gave a gift to the place of his birth, Jalandhar.
Paul’s Caparo Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) with the Punjab Technical University (PTU) to
establish a school for manufacturing and material
technology on the outskirts of Jalandhar. The school
is expected to start from the academic year 2006.
Caparo is contributing Rs 5 crore for the project
while PTU will provide 10 acres of land and contribute
Rs 1 crore.
Besides Paul, PTU vice-chancellor Dr S.K. Salwan
and K.K. Bhatnagar, principal secretary, technical
education, Punjab government were present at the signing
of the MOU.
