“3rd SS Bajwa” LA golf tournament has another successful run

Every year Bobby Kang begins by saying it will be the “best tournament yet.” But that’s just the way Bobby Kang is.

“For me, personally, it is the best day of the year,” Bobby Kang said Saturday. He said my dream turned into reality when we started 1st SS Bajwa Memorial Golf Tournament in the year 2006 in the fond memory of my uncle SS Bajwa

About 200 businessmen and entrepreneurs participate in the tournament on July 12, 2008. The tournament was organized at the Industry Hill Golf Course, One Industry Hills Pky, Industry, California. Industry It is one of California 's most historical and noteworthy golf facilities. It has more than 650 acres of lush green carpet and have been completely upgraded and modernized to provide the most compelling golf experience on the West Coast.

The event began with a shot gun start at 12:30 pm. The grand sponsor for the event was Cargo Solution Express Inc. The dinner held at at popular Shehnai Indian Restaurant, 705 E. Birch Street, Brea, CA. The entry fee was $175 per person.

Eminent sports personalities took part in this event are:

• Legendary cricketer, Bishen Singh Bedi- One of the famed Indian Spin Quartet; former India captain; before Anil Kumble, the Indian spinner with highest number of Test wickets
• Tennis icon, Vijay Amritraj and famous
• West Indies Cricket team captain, Richi Richardson- After Viv Richards's Test match retirement, Richie took on the mantle as the captain of the West Indies. He captained the team 24 times winning 11 matches. In the 4 years of his captaincy, the West Indies only lost one series — versus Australia in 1995.
• Rob Fukuzaki, ABC/7 Los Angeles sports anchor (Sports 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m) proudly support 3rd SS Bajwa Memorial Golf Tournament. 'KABC-TV' (Channel 7, branded as "ABC7") is the most-watched television station in Southern California. The station is the West Coast flagship of the ABC television network. The station's offices and studio are located in Glendale, California.

Deputy speaker, Lok Sabha, Charajit Singh Atwal accepted the invitation to inaugurate the tournament. After attending function in New York, when he was on the way to Los Angeles, he had to cut short his tour to LA and gone back to New Delhi, because of exigency of work in the Indian Parliment in the view of the recent turbulent political situation in India. He sent his best wishes to Kang brothers for inviting him to inaugurate the tournament.

S.S. Bajwa Memorial Golf Tournament, advisory Board members are are Richie Richardson, Bishan Singh Bedi and Kamlesh B. Doshi. Mr. Doshi is involved in international business and is primarily trading in Petrochemicals. With over 29 years of experience in business he has several business interests including food distribution and hotels. His other interests also include cricket & golf. He is one of the founding organizers of Los Angeles Open 20/20 cricket tournament.
