IASH Senior's organization, Vaisnav Society, zurashterian Gathers To Honor and Mourn for Sikh shooting victims

On Aug. 12, afternoon, a Shoke Sabha was arranged by representatives of IASH organization, Vaisnav Society, and people of zurashterian religion gathered in the ground of Artesia Hall, California for a prayer service in memory of six Sikhs killed by a gunman in a Wisconsin temple on Aug. 05. IASH senior’s organization has close to 1,000 members who devote their time and efforts to cater to the needs of the Senior Citizens

The opening of the meeting was with a prayer sung by community's top singer Mr.Irwin Joshi the meaning of that prayer was that the person is good who understands others sorrows.

Mr.Harshad Modi, one of the prominent leader of Artesia community, spoke about the tragedy happened in Wisconsin and also said if funds can be raised for the families of the victims. Pravin Modi who is brother of Harshad bhai said few words about the tragedy..

. Mr.Suru Manik who explained about the identity of the sikhs which is mistaken as Talibans because of their turban they
wear. Ramji bhai (main coordinator along with Jaspal Singh) showed his concern and suggested that there should be tight security around our gurudwaras, temples and all religious places by putting camaras around the places.

He was followed by Dr. Nitin shah, J.S.Bedi- Indisa Post, Ram Singania, Ashok Desai, Dr. J Shah, and Manubhai. Jaspal Singh explained the tragedy in a different way and said that it can happen anywhere and at any time. He was followed by Gary Singh who emphasised to spread the word by media and whatever way possible to the people. Then Mr. Chiman Adial spoke few words and then closing was done by Amrit Bhandari. So it was a nice gesture of feelings towards the family of the victims and it was followed by 2 minutes of silence as a prayer for the peace to the departed souls.
