On the auspicious and spiritually elevating occasion of Makar Sankranti, the eternal journey
of Brahm Bhog—the hunger alleviation initiative of DBC Trust—was sanctified with a special
Pooja and Havan at its New Delhi. The sacred rituals were conducted by Mahamandleshwar
Swami Advaitananda Giri Ji Maharaj invoking divine grace and cosmic harmony, in the
august presence of Shri Rajesh Narula Ji, Trustee, DBC Trust, along with devotees and
beneficiaries.
For over three decades, Brahm Bhog has stood as a living embodiment of Annadaan—the
highest form of charity in Indian ethos—selflessly serving the downtrodden, the deprived,
and the forgotten. What began as a humble yet resolute mission has today become a river of
compassion, flowing ceaselessly to quench the hunger of countless souls.
The extension of the Brahm Bhog program to New Delhi two years ago marked a significant
milestone in this sacred endeavour. The Delhi chapter now serves free, wholesome food
daily to nearly 8,000 people, including patients and attendants in hospitals, students in
schools, and the general public. With unwavering resolve and divine inspiration, this service
is soon set to expand its reach to over 25,000 beneficiaries daily, reinforcing the Trust’s
commitment to inclusive and unconditional service.
On this pious day of transition and renewal, free food was served to approximately 8000
people gathered at the venue, transforming the celebration of Makar Sankranti into a living
yajna—where fire was not merely lit in the havan kund, but in human hearts through
compassion and seva.
At the helm of this noble mission stands Mr. Anil K. Monga, Chairman, DBC Trust, a deeply
spiritual soul and philanthropist of the highest order. Guided by the belief that service to
mankind is service to the Divine, his vision has transformed food into prayer, kitchens into
temples, and service into sadhana. Under his inspired leadership, Brahm Bhog continues to
manifest the timeless wisdom that no prayer is complete until no one sleeps hungry.
Brahm Bhog is not merely a hunger alleviation —it is a sacred movement where faith meets
action, divinity expresses itself through selfless service, and humanity is nourished with
dignity, love, and hope.
As the Sun begins its northward journey on Makar Sankranti, Brahm Bhog too marches
forward—illuminating lives, alleviating hunger, and reaffirming DBC Trust’s unshakeable will
to serve mankind, today and for generations to come.
