Police Charge 17-Year-Old Boy in Investigation of
Gravesend Gurdwara Incident

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with multiple offenses by police after an incident at a Gurdwara in Kent. The disturbance took place at the Sri Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara in Gravesend on the evening of 11 July.
Officers were called to the scene at 20:10 BST following reports of a commotion inside the building and the assault of two women outside. Upon arrival, police arrested a local teenage boy and recovered a bladed weapon. Kent Police confirmed that no one was seriously injured during the incident.
The teenager faces several charges, including assault occasioning actual bodily harm, using or threatening unlawful violence, making threats to kill, threatening a person with a bladed weapon, and possessing a bladed article in a public place. After his arrest, he was remanded in police custody and was scheduled to appear before Maidstone Crown Court on Saturday.
Chief Superintendent Angie Chapman addressed the community's concerns, stating, "We understand local people's concerns about this incident, which we are treating as isolated. Our patrols will remain in the area for reassurance, and we would like to thank the community for their continued support and assistance."
