NRI Hari Mann Jailed for Firing Blanks at Police

NRI Hari Mann, 26, threatened members of the public with a fake handgun in a pub car park in Braunstone Town, Leicestershire, on 4 June 2024. Armed police responded quickly after reports of the incident and fired blanks at officers before arresting Mann.
Following his arrest, Mann attacked a nurse, and a search of his property turned up another fake weapon, police-style uniforms, handcuffs and vehicles equipped with sirens and blue lights.
At Leicester Crown Court, Mann pleaded guilty to several charges, including six counts of possessing a fake weapon with intent to cause fear of violence, modifying a fake weapon, impersonating a police officer and assaulting an emergency worker.
Detective Inspector Hazel Sandall praised the police's quick response, saying, "Thanks to the quick response of our call handlers and firearms officers, he was taken into custody before he could cause any physical harm to anyone."
