PM Modi Pledges to Strengthen Relations Following Meeting with
UK Foreign Secretary Lammy in New Delhi

UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, currently on a two-day visit to India, met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Wednesday, as both nations continue to strengthen their bilateral ties across various sectors.
Following their discussion, Modi expressed his gratitude to Lammy and commended UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer for prioritizing the UK-India partnership.
"It was a pleasure to meet UK Foreign Secretary 'David Lammy'. I appreciate the priority given by PM 'Keir Starmer' to expanding and deepening the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," Modi tweeted.
"We remain committed to elevating our ties. I welcome the bilateral Technology Security Initiative and the intent to finalize a mutually beneficial FTA," he added.
Lammy, who recently took office as the UK Foreign Secretary, arrived in India on Wednesday for his inaugural official visit to the country.
"The UK and India share a unique living bridge that enriches both our nations," Lammy remarked after his meeting with Modi.
"We are collaborating to accelerate climate action while creating opportunities for British and Indian businesses," he added.
Lammy also met with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. "Thank you 'Dr. S. Jaishankar' for the warm welcome. The UK-India relationship is indispensable. It's fantastic to be in Delhi as we announce a UK-India Technology Security Initiative to boost investment, create jobs, and tackle future challenges," Lammy tweeted after his meeting with Jaishankar.
Following his visit to India, the UK Foreign Secretary will attend the key ASEAN Foreign Ministers' meeting in the country.
