              “Free” Anaheim Health Fair provide services to over 
                500 individuals:  
              SECOND ANNUAL “FREE” 
                ANAHEIM HEALTH FAIR ONCE AGAIN SUCCEEDS IN ENCOURAGING HEALTHY 
                LIVING AND ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE SERVICES THANKS TO ONGOING COLLABORATIVE 
                PARTNERSHIP 
             
            ANAHEIM, Calif.- April 7, 2008

            Anaheim, CA – When the idea of bringing a “free” 
              health fair to the City of Anaheim was proposed to Anaheim City 
              Councilman Harry Sidhu by Pravin Mody of Anaheim based GBS Linens 
              and Dr. Nitin Shah in association with Anekant Community Center, 
              a wonderful equal partnership was formed. For the second year in 
              a row, the City of Anaheim continued its efforts to encourage healthy 
              living through this collaboration by hosting the Second “Annual” 
              Anaheim Health Fair held on Sunday, April 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 
               
               
              Special thanks must be given to the following individuals, organizations, 
              and sponsors who joined together in equal partnership to make the 
              Second Annual “Free” Anaheim Health Fair such a wonderful 
              community event providing services to over 500 individuals: (1) 
              Anaheim City Council Member Harry Sidhu, with leadership support 
              from Mayor Curt Pringle, City Council Members Lucille Kring and 
              Lorri Galloway, and Mayor Pro Tem Bob Hernandez; (2) Dr. Nitin Shah, 
              Anekant Community Center, and the over 70 Indo-American doctors 
              who donated their medical services; (3) Pravin Mody of GBS Linens; 
              (4) The City of Anaheim and all of its dedicated, hardworking staff, 
              especially, those in the Community Services Department, City Manager’s 
              Office – External Affairs Division, Office of the Mayor and 
              City Council staff members, and Anaheim Public Utilities Department; 
              and, (5) The Anaheim Chamber of Commerce staff and board members. 
               
              Elected officials attending the Second Annual “Free” 
              Anaheim Health Fair on Sunday, April 6, 2008 included Anaheim City 
              Council Member Harry Sidhu and Council Member Lucille Kring; and 
              City of Stanton Mayor Pro Tem, Al Ethans, along with his wife Mavis. 
               
              Anaheim Health Fair Sponsors included the following: GBS Linens 
              as “Grand Sponsor;” Disneyland Resort;Turner Construction 
              Company; Anaheim Hills Clubhouse; The Gas Company; Anaheim Disposal;The 
              Anaheim Family YMCA; Care Ambulance. Anaheim Health Fair In-Kind 
              Donors included the following: Freeman Decorating Company; Sally 
              Ann Catering; Aramark; Thomasville; Bagel Me; Costco; Vons; Yellow 
              Cab of North Orange County; Kaiser Permanente; and City of Anaheim 
              Public Utilities 
               
              And, lastly, but far from least, special thanks must be given to 
              the over 100 volunteers – many from the Cerritos College “Project 
              Hope” group, who donated their time and efforts in the true 
              spirit of community service.  
               
              “How honored we are in the City of Anaheim to have partners 
              like Pravin Mody, Dr. Shah, and Anekant Community Center to make 
              this event a reality again in our great city,” said Councilman 
              and 33rd State Senate District Candidate Harry Sidhu. “This 
              is now an annual event giving an opportunity to all who attend to 
              have access to healthcare services ensuring the highest quality 
              of life.”

            The City of Anaheim continues its efforts to encourage healthy 
              living by collaborating with the Anekant Community Center and GBS 
              Linens to host a free health fair at the Brookhurst Community Center, 
              Sunday, April 6, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m.  
            Specialists from various fields of medicine will be available for 
              free consultations and advice including: 
            
              - Blood pressure
 
              - Glucose readings to eye and dental exams.
 
              - Allergy screenings
 
              - Cholesterol readings
 
              - Gynecological services for those who qualify
 
             
              
            The City is pleased to be holding the health fair for the second 
              year in a row. The fair is part of an initiative that was 
              introduced by Anaheim 
              City Council Member Harry Sidhu, P.E. 
            Councilman Hary Sidhu said: 
            
              - It is my goal to ensure that every member of our community has 
                equal access to healthcare services.
 
              - The Health Fair gives us an opportunity to offer all Anaheim 
                residents the highest quality of life. With the success of last 
                year’s event, we are confident that the Annual Health Fair 
                will become a great tradition in the City of Anaheim.”
 
             
              
            The Brookhurst Community Center is located at 2271 Crescent Ave. 
              in Anaheim. A shuttle service will be available at designated locations 
              throughout Anaheim for those interested in transportation to the 
              Brookhurst Community Center. Translators will also be at the Health 
              Fair to assist those who may need their services. For general information
