NRI Kush Desai is an American political aide who is serving as the White House Deputy Press Secretary for the Second Trump administration.

Early Life

Desai, the son of Indian immigrants, graduated from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree between 2013 and 2017. During his time at Dartmouth, he was honored with the prestigious James O. Freedman Presidential Research Scholarship.

He began his professional journey as a reporter for The Daily Caller in Washington, D.C., where he worked from July 2017 to March 2018. Before assuming the role of Deputy Press Secretary, Desai served as Deputy Communications Director for Battleground States and Pennsylvania at the Republican National Committee (RNC) in July 2024. He also held the position of Deputy Communications Director for the 2024 Republican National Convention.

From December 2022 to January 2024, Desai was the Communications Director for the Republican Party of Iowa. His career at the RNC spanned nearly five years, during which he advanced from Research Analyst to Director of Vetting, eventually taking on the role of Iowa Communications Director. On January 25, 2025, Desai was appointed as Deputy Press Secretary.
