Madhu Goud Yaskhi - NRI young MP in the Parliament

BIO:

Madhu Goud Yaskhi is born to the wedlock of Smt. Sulochana and Late Shri. Kistaiah Goud Yaskhi on 15th Dec 1960 at Hayatnagar, Hyderabad City. Madhu has six sisters and four brothers. He is the second among them. His father’s younger brother Y. Pochaiah and wife Y. Anasuya adopted Madhu.

Almost all sports attracted Madhu. He used to play Ball badminton and was the captain of the team in his intermediate days. Reading also was one of his hobbies. He developed keen interest in reading Telugu literature and History. At a very young age, he read almost all the books of the great Telugu scholar Vishwanatha Satyanarayana.

Madhu had the qualities of a leader right from early childhood. Even in school, from First standard onwards, except for one year, he was the class leader. When he was in the eighth standard, he participated in the school elections and was elected General Secretary. This was an overwhelming achievement for Madhu as the two other candidates who contested with him were tenth class students. Sidelining them, the students had voted in Madhu’s favour. This was a clear indication of Madhu’s leadership qualities. While in the tenth class, he was elected President of the school.

Even in college, there was no set back to his leadership qualities. Change of atmosphere and place did not cause any hindrance or we can say that he did not allow hindrances to block his way to success. Even in college, he was the Vice President of the Student’s Union of PG College and Nizam College Students Union. While doing his LLM, he was the University Law College President.

Madhu completed schooling from the Government High School and Intermediate from the Government City College, Hyderabad. He graduated from Nizam College, Hyderabad (1979-82).
Later Madhu completed the LLB degree from the prestigious Campus Law center of Delhi University (1985). He also possesses the PG degree in Law (International Law) from Osmania University, Hyderabad(1989). He married Dr. Suchee in 1991 and is now a proud father of two girls Komali (1994) and Gagana(2000).

He married Dr Shuchee, a gynecologist in the year 1991. The couple have two children. Madhu’s father died in a road accident in the year 1990. As there was no immediate medical attention, his condition deteriorated and he died. Madhu was very much moved by the sudden demise of his father in such a tragic way and this incident left a deep impact on his life. It also inspired him to become a cause for giving life to many accident victims and thus encouraged wife Dr Shuchee to change her subject from gynecology to endocrinology. Dr Shuchee had worked successfully in many hospitals in the United States of America. And now, she returned to India, for the sake of her children’s education and also with an intention to settle down in one place

Political Career

Madhu Goud Yaskhi entered politics deeply touched and affected by the miseries of the farmers. He created history by winning with a thumping majority of over one lakh thirty eight thousand votes within an amazingly short spell of canvassing of just 15 days. More after the elections, than during the campaign, he has undertaken an extensive tour of the constituency covering each and every village in order to get a first hand feel of the people's problems and solve them. He has opened offices with his own resources in Nizamabad, Hyderabad and Delhi in order to be accessible to people 24 hours of the day. He has gone one step ahead and started a 24 hour help line to listen to the grievances of those, who cannot come to the offices. People need to make just a phone call and their problems would be taken care of the sufficient staff that he has employed in three offices.

Madhu is striving hard with aim of providing the basic needs of drinking water, education and health care. In addition to the ten crore rupees of MP LADS, he has ear marked 25% of his own earnings for the development of his constituency. Through Madhu Yaskhi Foundation he is putting in all efforts to provide education, health care and housing facilities on a large scale with his own money. He is also trying to involve the foreign donors in the welfare activities undertaken by the Madhu Yaskhi Foundation.

Madhu Goud has made a mark for himself in the capital and as a young MP in the Parliament within a short span of time. It is worth mentioning here that, though elected for the first time to the parliament, he is appointed as a member of one of the key committees-the Standing Committee on External and NRI Affairs. It is also to his credit to be appointed as a member of another key committee-the Consultative Committee of the Ministry of Civil Aviation. It is a commendable fact that Madhu Goud is a sole representative of our state in both the committees mentioned above. In addition, Madhu is also appointed as a member of House Committee on Subordinate Legislation and also Indian Council for World Affairs.

Professional experience

Madhu worked with KG. Kannabiran, a senior advocate and an eminent human rights activist for two years. In 1989, he left for the United States and worked in various departments with the Indian consulate in New York till 1993. Madhu also worked as legal associate with the Law Firm of Neil A. Weinrib and Associates, a prominent Immigration Law Firm of the New York city for about 18 months. Madhu co-founded the International Legal And Trade Consultants(ILTC) in 1996 with the main aim of providing professional legal service to immigrant communities in the US, particularly expatriate Indians. In the span of 8 years, ILTC has helped over 20,000 Indians (a vast number of them from Andhra Pradesh) in securing visas/green card status in US and Canada. Madhu is closely associated with various Diaspora foras like TANA, ATA and it may not be out of context here to state that no single Telugu speaking person in America, who had any legal problem, would not have known Lawyer Madhu and also for his generosity.

Recently Madhu has started an extended office of ILTC in Hyderabad, where legal professionals, software engineers and graduates based in Hyderabad can work as employees of ILTC New York. This blending of law services and IT is a new concept and the Hyderabad branch is poised to grow as a countrywide network. His professional experience and efforts reflect Madhu's commitment and determination to give a better and dignified life to the people of his homeland.
