October 20th. is a very special day in Sikh history. On this day the tenth Nanak, Guru Gobind Singh ji announced to the Sikhs that from that day forward Guru Granth Sahib Ji is the Guru of the Sikhs. There will be no more living Gurus after Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Guru Gobind Singh Ji told a large gathering of the prominent Sikhs to adhere to the teachings of Guru Granth Sahib, gave his blessings and announced that they (The Sikhs) as a Panth are now ready and equipped to take on any challenge the world may throw at them.
