Nachhattar Singh Chandi President & CEO, Chandi Group USA, 1997 | One of Indio's largest developers, Nachhattar Singh Chandi of the Chandi Group USA, arrived in US at the age of 20 in 1991. Today Chandi Group USA owned over 20 ARCO and ampm gas stations throughout California along with Dunkin Donuts, Del Taco, Subway, Burger King, Denny's six car washes and DQ Grill & Chill in the valley franchises. Chandi Group USA is employing nearly 1000 people and bringing much needed services to under-served communities. India to Indio Nachhattar Singh Chandi became one of the most successful entrepreneurs in the history of the Coachella Valley, California He met his wife Susana, a Mexican immigrant, who he regards as the “Engine to my Success.” |

His first job was at a small gas station as a cashier in Coachella, California, known as White’s Black Gold Gasoline. After three years, he bought the gas station. In 2002, he bought a 40-acre property and constructing a truck stop with an ARCO ampm called Mecca Travel Center. The building measures 1,500 square feet and includes 24 fueling positions. Susana Chandi is the COO and Co-Founder of Chandi Group USA Inc. at Coachella Valley. , With more than 26 businesses ranging from gasoline service stations to QSR’s (quick service restaurants) throughout the State of California, her company contributes to the employment of over 700 individuals. Not only is she an outstanding entrepreneur, but she’s also an active member of a myriad of charity & philanthropic groups. Susana has supported a vast array of organizations that assist the local Coachella Valley communities. She’s been an active affiliate of Steven’s Hope for Children, Dr. Carreon Foundation, Mecca & North Shore Community, Family YMCA of the Desert, Big Sisters Big Brothers of the Desert, Boys and Girls Club of the Coachella Valley, to name a few. Her love and generosity for her customers & community doesn’t stop there as she has also contributed to multiple Coachella Valley high schools extending from Mecca on the east side of the valley to Desert Hot Springs. Her businesses are members of the Greater Coachella Valley Chamber of Commerce and sustain a strong connection with the communities they serve. Whether it’s from her humanitarian heart or by her business enterprise, Susana has continuously proven to be an example of brilliance and excellence. |
