NRI Kulbarg Singh, businessman, has been disqualified from serving as a company director in the UK for six years following an investigation by the Insolvency Service. The probe revealed that Singh sold a collection of seven historic cars, including two Jaguars and three Rolls-Royces, for just GBP 1 to another company under his control.
The undervalued transaction raised concerns of misconduct, with investigators concluding that the sale was not in the best interest of the original company or its creditors. By transferring valuable assets at a nominal price, Singh was found to have breached his fiduciary duties as a director.
The UK Insolvency Service described the deal as a "serious abuse of responsibility" and stated that the disqualification aims to protect the public and maintain trust in the business environment.
He will be barred from forming, promoting, or managing any UK-based company until 2031.
