UK NRI Steel tycoon Lakshmi Mittal who head the world's largest
steel Company "ArcelorMittal" announced on Tuesday
that it acquired NSD Ltd., a North Lincolnshire, UK-based steel
distribution company
NSD Limited, a specialises in sales of heavy sections and tubes,
has sales of 130,000 tonne per annum and turnover of 89 million
Euro or GBP 60 million. This would help to create a foundation
for gaining a prominent market share for ArcelorMittal Distribution
in the UK. NSD has been a great strength of supplying to steel
stockholders and fabricators
Member of the Group Management Board of ArcelorMittal, Gonzalo
Urquijo said, "ArcelorMittal will extend its position in
the attractive UK market which, whilst being mature, is still
very profitable. ArcelorMittal can offer the complete steel
solution and aims to take the leading role in the UK market".
ArcelorMittal will increase output of high quality quench and
tempered product by 50,000 tons. Quenching and tempering is
a process to dramatically increase the strength and hardness
of steel plate, which will make it the ideal material for protective
skins on military vehicles, as well as many non-military applications.
