NRI Nevin P. Megchiani will be honoured with the Pravasi Community Awards, 2007

Four persons of Indian origin will be honoured with the Pravasi Community Awards, 2007 for their services to the diaspora and Indian causes at a convention in New Delhi .

He is a prominent member of the Indian business community in Bahrain. Mr. Megchiani has lived in Bahrain since 1955 and is a Business Executive and a member of the Management Board in one of the reputed business organizations in Bahrain - Mohammed Jalal & Sons. He is also the director of a number of Group Companies. He is the Director of Jalal-Ionics W.L.L. producer of the famous Aquacool brand bottled water. Mr. Megchiani has been instrumental in establishing a number of business ventures in the Gulf and the international market.

Mr. Megchiani has served the Indian and other communities on this island through his social activities. He is the past Vice President of the Indian School and has been a prominent committee member in Manama Toastmasters Club since 1967.

Mr. Megchiani is the Director of the Birla Institute of Technology International Centre (BITIC), a collaboration with one of the best technical universities of India

Mr. Megchiani is also the Chairman of Megchiani International W.L.L., Bahrain, which manages and operates the franchise of Aptech Computer Education, in Bahrain and Qatar, the largest franchise in IT training in the world.
