"OFBJP-LA chapter was formed on Jan 01, 2014 in Artesia, California, USA," said P K Nayak, businessman in Artesia, California. "It was inaugurated on Jan 26, 2014 at the Haveli Restaurant, Artesia, CA. and the chief guest was Artesia Mayor Tony Lima.

Anil Mahajan welcomed the gathering and invited Dilip Butani to say a few words and conduct the meeting.

Butani explained to the audience details about  BJP's MISSION 272+, 2014.

This was followed by lighting ceremony and National Anthems of USA and India. Next, was a talk by the National President Chandrakant Patel who gave his good wishes on the occasion and formally declared the OFBJP-LA chapter open.  Shri Patel is the President of OFBJP-USA. Patel also individually installed the organizing committee.

Butani then invited Anil Mahajan who spoke about the goals and objectives of the organization.  Next, Vijay Patil apprised the audience of the LA chapter's official website and re-emphasized the objectives of the organization.  He also introduced the committee members to the audience. This was followed by speech by Rajiv Srivastav, who spoke about the upcoming events. Next was a talk by Latesh Bhambhani who spoke about social media.

 Others who spoke on the occasion include, Ravji Patel, Dr Sinduri Jaisinghe, Vasu Pawar, Sangeetika Advani and Dr Aarti Shah. Thereafter, Manu Patel introduced the chief guest Mayor Lima.

Mayor Lima congratulated the team wished BJP good luck in the forthcoming election.

The press Media, NRIpress.com was also invited for coverage. Mr. Butani requested to Gary Singh Grewal to say few words that how NRI media can help NRIs part in coming elections. Gary Singh Grewal explained:

"Now all parties in India are looking NRIs and their relatives's votes in coming election. "Most of the honest and educated politicians are crying for NRIs help."

"You, NRIs must also recruit young people in your own NRI network who believe in social media and like to work as one team, so that your voice must be heard worldwide."

BJP’s main objective is to work towards projecting a positive and correct image of India and its people in the U.S. and foreign media, and correct any distortions in the media's reporting of current events taking place in India." said P K Nayak. "The party wishes to promote the philosophy of 'Integral Humanism' and also to foster a cordial relationship between Asian Indian and North American People, by establishing direct communication channels with local ethnic and national media."

 In the end P K Nayak, convener of the OFBJP La chapter, thanked everyone and spoke about the future plans and also how the LA chapter would support the party from overseas.
