Harjit Singh Grewal is a senior Indian politician and prominent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Punjab. With decades of experience in public life, he has held several important organizational and government positions and is recognized as one of the BJP's leading Sikh faces in the state.
Born in 1959–1960 in Punjab, Grewal studied at D.A.V. College, Jalandhar and comes from an agricultural background.
He is married to Pinky Grewal and has a son, Prateek Grewal.
Grewal served as Chairman of the Punjab Khadi and Village Industries Board from 2013 to 2017.
He has been Vice Chairman of NACOF (National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation) since 2015.
He also served as Vice President of BJP Punjab and is a member of the party's National Executive.
He played an active role during the farmers' protests, participating in discussions with the Central Government and advocating dialogue to resolve the issue. He also campaigned extensively for the BJP in Punjab and contested the 2017 Punjab Assembly election from Rajpura.
In July 2026, the Government of India appointed Harjit Singh Grewal as the Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities (NCM), entrusting him with overseeing the protection of minority rights and advising the government on policies concerning minority communities.
