Dumfries House, a grand Scottish estate with close ties to King Charles III, has launched a unique 18th-century dining experience, curated by Collections Manager Satinder Kaur. This immersive event takes place in the estate's historic Pink Dining Room, offering visitors an authentic journey back in time. Featuring traditional Butler Service and rare ceramics from the estate’s collection, the experience recreates the elegance of Georgian-era dining.
Kaur, working alongside Manager Evan Samson and Executive Chef Tom Scoble, has crafted a menu reflective of the period's culinary styles, further enhancing the historical atmosphere. Priced at GBP 375 per person, the dining experience also serves a charitable purpose, with proceeds supporting the King’s Foundation. This charity funds educational programs focusing on heritage crafts, rural skills, and sustainability.
Dumfries House remains a symbol of heritage preservation and community development, with this dining initiative being part of its broader efforts to attract global visitors. The estate continues to highlight Scotland’s rich history and culture while contributing to educational initiatives, ensuring that traditional skills and knowledge are passed on to future generations. This exclusive offering is a testament to the estate’s ongoing mission of heritage-led regeneration.
