Several Indians, including a policeman as 'Informers' claiming a 58,400 pounds (Rs.5 million) reward for the arrest of Kohli

    • Ajay Kumar Ratholia, the hotel owner in Darjeeling where Kohli had stayed and a taxi driver the accused had befriended. He claimed that he had proof of the calls he made to the hotline and even to the Southampton police. I made calls to Southampton police and I've the phone bills

    • Jason Lepcha, Taxi driver claimed it was he who had tipped off British police. I have the bills of phone calls made to police to inform about Kohli.

    • A newspaper vendor and a barber were also claimants to the reward. The vendor said Kohli read many newspapers very thoroughly every day and bought two papers that he took with him to his hotel.
    • S.K. Shreshta, inspector Sikkim police, told the Bengali daily Dainik Statesman that he had called up police to tell them that Kohli was living in Darjeeling. West Bengal police team that actually arrested Kohli is not staking its claim to the reward.
