Amarjit Kaur Lally, 45, of Surrey, B.C. Canada was arrested by Delta Police as part of " murder for hire" investigation. She is facing two charges of councelling to commit murder on April 01, 2010

In January of 2010, Delta Police received information and embarked on a criminal investigation involving LALLY. The intended victims were notified by police with respect to their risk of personal harm and safety and protection measures were put into place during the course of the investigation.

As a result of this six week investigation, charges have been secured under Section 464(a) of the Criminal Code and LALLY is currently in custody until April 07, 2010 when she is scheduled to appear in court.

In 1997, she was convicted in Delta of theft under $5,000 and got a six-month suspended sentence and six months probation.

The media relations officer, Constable Sharlene Brooks, facilitates a community connection to the Delta Police Department by providing information in a timely manner on issues of administration and police operations. Constable Sharlene Brooks said:
