Punjab Governor requested Media to act independently & impartially
when inaugurating the new office of Amar Ujala in Chandigarh

Mr Shivraj V.Patil, the Punjab Governor inaugurate the new office of Amar Ujala, Daily News Paper in Chandigarh and said:

  • Day by day media is getting stronger and more powerful with the launching of new newspapers, magazines and specially electronic media which has to feed their news channels for 24 hours with latest news.
  • The media should inform guide and inspire, the policy makers, the members of the executive and the people- to protect, preserve, strengthen the democracy and democratic working,
  • The Journalism has a vital role in a democratic set-up and is considered as the fourth pillar of the democracy.
  • You as media, please discharge your duties effectively, independently, impartially with courage and confidence for building a better society.
