Our spirits are eternal, our souls are forever. The next time you encounter an elderly person, look at them and know they are still a child. The statement could be interpreted as highlighting the fact that someone may appear young for their age but pass away unexpectedly at 86.

He was a co-founder NRIpress and started Sunday 6pm prog. 5 years ago as NRIpress.club Debate. He wrore, “I am proud to be president of the Northern California branch of NRI Press.”

Punjab lawmakers in the House offered differing plans last week  on how the state should collect and spend its money this year.

• Harpal Singh Cheema, Punjab Finance Minister presented a Rs 2.36 lakh crore Budget in the Assembly Wednesday — the fourth Budget of the Bhagwant Mann-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government
• It focused on the health sector and proposed the first-ever drug census, pegging the state’s outstanding debt at Rs 4.17 lakh crore for 2025-26.
• It does not made any allocations for providing Rs 1,000 monthly allowance to women.
• The cash-strapped Mann government is preparing to roll out this payout scheme closer to the next polls due in early 2027

TEACHING OF SIKHI BECOMES A PART OF SCHOOL CURRICULUM IN 2 MORE STATES IN USA

It all Started in California in 2009 with a team effort under the initiative of dedicated whistle blower late Dr. Onkar Singh Bindra of Sacramento:

• Raised this issue of including Sikhi in the California Public School History-Social Science Curriculum and appealed to the Punjabi American community through Ambedkar Times Newspaper to come together and support. The Sikh Council of Central California (SCCC) immediately responded and joined hands.
• The Sikh Coalition and others followed. Consequently, a Curriculum Commission was set up in Sacramento in 2009. A lengthy process ensued that took 7 long years of active participation by attending meetings, lobbying lawmakers, and presenting testimonies in Sacramento by all involved to get through the necessary hurdles and got approval in 2016. Finally New Textbooks were published in 2018 which included the teaching of the Sikh Faith for the first time ever in California history books.
