U.S. President Donald Trump Appoints 'Dr. Anji Sinha'
as U.S. Ambassador to Singapore

U.S. President 'Donald Trump' has put forward NRI Entrepreneur 'Dr. Anji Sinha' as his choice for the role of U.S. ambassador to Singapore.
Announcing the nomination on Truth Social on Mar 11, Mr. Trump praised, "Dr. Sinha as a highly respected entrepreneur with a remarkable family.” He underscored the significance of U.S.-Singapore relations and expressed confidence that Dr. Sinha would “represent the nation’s interests effectively and put America first.”
NRI Dr. Sinha is not widely known, with no evident presence on websites or social media. His appointment will require Senate confirmation before becoming official.
CNA has contacted the U.S. State Department and the U.S. embassy in Singapore for further information.
The outgoing U.S. ambassador to Singapore, Jonathan Kaplan, was appointed by former President Joe Biden in July 2021. The embassy’s website lists Casey Mace as the current Charge d’Affaires.
During Mr. Trump’s previous administration, the U.S. embassy in Singapore was overseen by a Charge d’Affaires. His initial nominee for ambassador, K. T. McFarland, was announced in May 2017 but withdrew her candidacy in February 2018 after delays in the Senate. The Senate Foreign Relations Committee had cited concerns regarding her testimony to Congress about communications with Russia.
