NRI UK brothers donate money Rs 1.2 lakh to the village school

Two NRI brothers Harwant Singh Gill and Narinder Singh Gill, hailing from Mullanpur village and settled in London for the last about 40 years, have donated a sum of Rs 1.2 lakh to the village panchayat for the repair of the leaking roof of the building of the primary school in the village.

The Gill brothers said they had donated the amount in memory of their father late Sewa Singh Subedar. They were asked for the donation for the village dispensary by the panchayat but they decided to donate the amount to the school as they had studied in the same school. They donated the cheque to village sarpanch Amrik Singh.

Those present on the occasion were all panchayat members and panch Bibi Surinder Kaur, who had requested for the donation. Warrant officer Ishar Singh will look after the repair work.
